Your data

Privacy Policy

This page explains what personal data Room to Expand collects, why, and what your rights are. It is written to be readable. If anything is unclear, email me and I will explain it.

Who is responsible

The controller for this website is:

Sean Paul Denny (Room to Expand)
Neukölln, 12047 Berlin, Germany
Email: seanpauldenny@gmail.com

The email newsletter

If you sign up for the newsletter, I collect your email address, along with the date, time, and IP address of your signup and confirmation. That information is the record of your consent.

Why: to send you new blog posts and occasional related updates. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Double opt-in: after you sign up you receive a confirmation email, and nothing is sent until you click the link in it. Processor: the newsletter runs on MailerLite (MailerLite Limited), which stores and sends the emails on my behalf under a data processing agreement. Unsubscribe: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw your consent at any time, with no effect on the lawfulness of anything sent before. Your address is kept until you unsubscribe, then removed.

I will never sell or share your address, and I will not use it for anything other than what you signed up for.

Booking a session

The booking calendar is provided by Cal.com. When you book, the details you enter, such as your name, email, and chosen time, are processed by Cal.com to arrange the session. Legal basis: taking steps at your request prior to and during our arrangement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical data in server logs, for example your IP address, browser type, and the time of the request, so the site can be delivered securely and reliably. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Fonts

The site currently loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your IP address is transmitted to Google when a page loads. Legal basis: legitimate interest in consistent presentation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

External links

Links to other sites, such as Instagram or the Pantarei Approach website, take you off this site, where this policy no longer applies. Please read their own privacy notices.

Cookies

This website does not set its own tracking or advertising cookies. Embedded third-party tools, the booking calendar and the newsletter form, may set cookies or local storage needed for their own function when you interact with them.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the data held about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased;
  • restrict or object to processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time; and
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these, email seanpauldenny@gmail.com. For Berlin, the supervisory authority is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
